MBA in International Management - Full-time or Part-time

Structure and Syllabus

The MBA in International Management is a flexible, contemporary and challenging programme comprising six core courses, two elective courses and a dissertation. This full-time programme will take one year to complete. For each of the following core courses you will be required to submit a 3,000 word written assignment which is worth 30% of the course mark. You will also sit a three-hour examination which accounts for the remaining 70% of the mark.

The core courses and their content are:

International Marketing

International Accounting & Finance

International Business Strategy

International Operations Management & Information Systems

International Human Resource Management/Organisational Behaviour

International Business Economics

Electives

You will be required to choose any two of the following options. These will be assessed on the same basis as the core courses. Regardless of the options you choose, you will participate in two group projects and two case studies.

The options are:

Regional study courses, including: • Japanese Multinationals in Europe   • Asian Pacific BusinessEuropean BusinessNorth American BusinessMultinational Enterprise & the Global Economy

Professional courses, including: • International Business AnalysisInternational Business LawManagement, Leadership & TeamsGlobal Financial Markets

Dissertation

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

You will also be required to attend a management skills programme and seminars held by business leaders. The management skills programme includes:

  • Fundamentals of Accounting.
  • Business Statistics.
  • Communication Skills Workshops.
  • Basic Information Technology Skills.
  • Project Management & Teams.

ANTICIPATED WORKLOAD

The workload for the programme is made up of a combination of all or some of the following activities:

  • Lectures.
  • Workshops.
  • Seminars.
  • Computer laboratory work.
  • Tutorials.
  • Private study (reading, library and research).
  • Completion of individual assignments and the dissertation.
  • Group working.
  • Practical management development.
